Dear Simon Pocock
I would be very much interested in receiving both accounts (either by
email or ordinary mail - you chose whatever it is more convenient for
you)
Many thanks. That is very kind of you
Best regards, Ilaria Favretto

Dear group
I have a 55-page account of the British Council's early history in Italy
(1938-1958), in addition to a 25-page account of the history of the
Naples
branch for the same period, both produced by myself. Sources include
documents from the National Archives (UK), press cuttings, eye witness
accounts and some literary material.
In addition to coverage of the Council's activities in Rome, Florence,
Milan, Genoa, Naples, Venice, Turin and Palermo in the years immediately
before and immediately after the war, there are also references to
Archibald
Colquhoun (translator of Promessi Sposi) and Benedetto Croce, among
others.
If anybody would like a hard copy I should probably be able to mail it
them
(you).
Simon Pocock
