First Call for Papers
Social Simulation
We invite you to submit abstracts to a special session on Social
Simulation, which will be held during the RGS-IBG Annual International
Conference in London, 30 Aug to 1 Sep, 2006.
Interest in social simulation has been growing at a rapid pace in the
last decade. The potential for researchers to model and understand
these systems is unparalleled with increases in both computing power,
and data capture and storage. A major influence on the development of
social simulation has been through advances in artificial intelligence
techniques such as cellular automata, agent-based modelling and
microsimulation.
This session aims to bring together researchers using or developing
tools for social simulation that provides new insights into complex
geographical systems.
We would welcome papers on:
* Tools for modelling social simulation
* Artificial social systems
* Self-organising systems and emergent organisation
* Modelling complexity in social simulations
* Agent models and architecture
* Verification and testing
* Social interaction models
Full submission guidelines can be found at:
