Design conference

London College of Fashion, London W1
Speakers include Professor Joy Mighty, Head of the
Instructional Development Centre at Queens University Canada,
Dianna Yach, lawyer and consultant on equal opportunities legislation
and Dr. Caroline Hudson, CHEAD researcher on inclusion.
The conference is aimed at a range of HE staff who support students
studying art & design HE including lecturers, course leaders, technical and
support staff, learning development staff and those concerned with
widening participation initiatives.
There are a number of key speakers to inform and generate discussion, and
delegates will have an opportunity to join in small working groups focusing
on particular areas of widening participation (eg cultural
and religious diversity, deaf students; supporting those with mental health
difficulties; including disabled students in the creative and performing
arts).
It offers those attending an opportunity to explore some of the theoretical
and practical issues facing the sector in implementing the inclusion agenda
and share how those issues are being addressed across the sector.
