The Western Spectroscopy Association had moved its' website to
www.westernspectroscopy.org this year for our February 1-3, 2006
conference. However, we seem to be having some problems with the new
online registration system.
Therefore, we are extending the registration deadline for this
conference to Wednesday, Nov 23. You can register online or by
replying to this email and filling out the information below. If you
have previously registered but have not received an email confirming
your registration, please re-register at this time.
The 53rd conference program includes ten invited lectures, seven
contributed lectures, and two poster sessions. Registration and
complete information are available on the Internet at
http://www.westernspectroscopy.org
The conference is held at the Asilomar Conference Center, which is
located on the spectacular Monterey Peninsula near Asilomar State
Beach, California. There are many scenic and historic sites located
nearby; guests are also invited to the social hours, meals, and
banquet. The Western Spectroscopy Association meeting was begun in
1954 by G.C. Pimentel, W. C. Merrill, J. W. Otvos, S. S. Penner, S. R.
Smith, and J. C. Guffy as a regional meeting on molecular spectroscopy.
In the intervening years it has developed into a forum for researchers
in all kinds of spectroscopy at small colleges, larger universities and
national laboratories across the west. Its informal setting is designed
to encourage participation of students and postdoctoral associates, and
its regional nature enhances the development of longer-term scientific
cooperation.
