The Max Planck Institute for the History of Science, Berlin,
offers a five-year half-time position beginning September 1, 2005, or
earlier, as coordinator of the
International Max Planck Research Network "History of Scientific
Objects".
The Network is comprised of 21 partners from 6 countries and will start
its work in autumn 2005. For the research program, please

Salary according to the German BAT II-O level depends on age,
maritalstatus, etc.; the average amount is about 1000 Euro after taxes.
Tasks: (1) facilitate collaborations between the network partners, e.g.
arrange for guest visits, meetings, exchange of students; (2)
contribute to the further development of the network's concept and
follow through on an organizational level; (3) plan and coordinate the
resources (budgets, spaces, manpower) ; (4) assist with the
presentation of the results of the network’s research activities, such
as with conferences, publications, exhibitions.
Requirements: University degree in a discipline related to the
network’s research subject, demonstrated working experience within the
field of science administration, distinguished command of English,
excellent communication skills, international and German working
experience.
