Anyone reading Vanevar Bush, should also have a look at Octave Uzanne's "The
End of Books", which, in 1894 predicted that printing would be made
obsolescent by New Technology.
Complete with wonderful Victorian illustrations, Uzanne predicts television,
and even the iPod ("At home, walking, sightseeing, these fortunate hearers
will experience the ineffable delight of reconciling hygiene with
instruction; of nourishing their minds while exercising their muscles; for
there will be pocket phono-opera-graphs, for use during excursions"). Enjoy!

What a treasure! - here's another treat, Vannevar Bush's famous article from
1945:
http://www.ps.uni-sb.de/%7Educhier/pub/vbush/vbush-all.shtml
and of course the Wayback Machine if you fance a real wallow in nostalgia -
for
instance the first Science Museum collectionhs web offering, created by
Peter
Bailes in 1995: he was only supposed to make 6 pages!
