2nd INTERNATIONAL PLAGIARISM CONFERENCE 2006
organised by the JISC Plagiarism Advisory Service
19-21 June 2006
The Sage Gateshead
The complex issue of student plagiarism continues to be a concern for
education providers both in the UK and abroad. Since the successful,
inaugural Plagiarism: Prevention, Practice and Policy Conference in 2004,
the focus of much of the debate on the topic has moved from the actions of
the individual to an institutional perspective. Institutional policies and
procedures are increasingly under scrutiny and the values of transparency,
consistency and fairness must be upheld. The Plagiarism Advisory Service is,
therefore, pleased to announce the second International Plagiarism
Conference, aimed at providing a forum for wide-ranging and frank discussion
on the many aspects of the topic and a showcase for innovative practice in
the community.
The venue for the conference is the Sage Gateshead, an impressive new music
centre on the banks of the River Tyne, a few minutes walk from Newcastle
city centre, and easily accessible by both private and public transport.
Participants can choose from a wide variety of accommodation within the city
centre.
