Geofutures is a successful strategic consultancy calling on the
disciplines of data analysis and geographic information modelling to
create digital tools for major government and private sector clients. We
are now seeking a full-time developer both to serve existing clients and
to help create new GI applications, models and delivery platforms.
A full-time permanent role based in the centre of Bath, this is an
excellent opportunity to forge a key role in a rapidly growing and
innovative consultancy which pushes the envelope of GIS technologies.
We’re offering a competitive salary depending upon skills & experience.
You will need strong Oracle skills, in particular Oracle Spatial, and will
preferably be comfortable working within a Linux environment. You’ll also
have a thorough understanding of web applications within a Java and XML
development framework.
Ideally, you will also have experience of spatial analysis using standard
GIS software such as ArcGIS or MapInfo and may have experience of
application development in other languages such as Python or C++.
You’ll need to be comfortable interacting with clients, communicating
clearly both verbally and in writing, and contributing fully to the
effectiveness of a small and friendly team. Efficient workload management
and motivation to achieve technical excellence are both a must.
The successful candidate is likely to be a recent Masters or PhD student,
ideally with 1-2 years’ commercial experience.
