ecsite-uk, the national network of science centres and museums, will
be running two national debate events at science centres on nuclear
energy, as part of Einstein Year. The events have been funded by
NESTA.
Materials to support these events have already been developed, and are
available via www.scizmic.net The Project Officer's role is to support
the science centres running the events and to
. work with media students to create a lively and entertaining video
package looking at different people's opinions and concerns about
nuclear power.
. create opportunities to communicate between venues using webcams,
secure internet chat space and file swapping.
. provide the teachers with a consolidation activity that the
participants can share with the rest of the class or school.
Alongside experience of school visits to science venues, you will have
experience or knowledge of developing cross-venue programming,
producing video footage for schools use and working in a small team.
You will also bring a general knowledge of social and ethical issues,
a science background, and excellent time management skills.
This is a fixed term contract, from September to the end of December
2005.
