The author of (X)Medcon provided a little script that should do the job
(in fact, it does. It helped me out of a big mess already... ;-) )
Simply go to
http://xmedcon.sourceforge.net/faq/stack.html
and look for the link to the mklinks - script. It creates symlinks with
the appropriate names instead of converting the whole file. After that
you can work on those symlinks. Very nifty!
