the first image is meant to be the first on your time axis, yes. Negative
values indivate overall volume loss, i. e. atrophy at timepoint 2 compared
with 1, positive values indicate an overall gain. The values indicate
percentages.
(The algorithm does not treat the images absolutely symmetrically, however for
the overall results there ist not much difference, most times below something
like 0.02 percent.)
But, as mentioned above, negative results would intuitively be more associated
with atrophy.
