Dear List,
INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON EPINICIAN POETRY
JULY 2006
We are pleased to announce the conference “Epinician” which will take
place in London from 6th to 9th July 2006, hosted by University College
London and the Institute of Classical Studies.
This conference will bring together a distinguished international array of
speakers on a wide variety of aspects of Greek epinician poetry, its
history and reception. We believe that the conference will provide a
unique opportunity for stimulating reflection and interaction on all
aspects of epinician poetry.
In addition to the speakers who have already agreed to give papers, there
will also be a forum for postgraduate students working on epinician
poetry, and we would be grateful if list members would draw the conference
to the attention of interested postgraduates and encourage them to contact
us with offers of papers.
[Richard Rawles adds: "NB that there is a PG element for the conference
and that there will be funding at least for quite a few PG speakers." JP]
