Dear all,
I am delighted to invite you to the Sixth Durham Blackboard Users'
Conference in Durham, NE England at the end of this year. Please accept
my apologies if you get this more than once! Full details of the
conference are available at this ever-catchy URL:
http://www.dur.ac.uk/lt.team/bbuk/dec2005/
Entitled "In front of the Blackboard: The Learner's Experience" the
programme will be a mix of keynote speakers and parallel strands, a
seasonal pick and mix! We hope to include presentations and a Question &
Answer Session from Blackboard - which should be very interesting given
the recent merger plans...
It will be a two day conference as before, with registration (and
coffee) available from 9.00 am on Thursday the 15th December. The
Conference programme should commence officially at the more civilised
hour of 11.00 am, with the first delegate presentations in the
afternoon. There is a conference dinner on the Thursday night. The next
day's formal proceedings should draw to a close around 4.30 pm on Friday
the 16th December. Accomodation is available in Durham's Colleges or in
one of the nearby hotels. Full details are available from the
registration pages of the website.
We will consider anything, but particularly encourage submissions on the
following themes:
* Online Assessment
* Student Centered Learning (e.g. E-portfolios, Groupwork)
* System Administration (e.g. Snapshot, Custom Authentication)
* Building Block Development
Paper/workshop/discussion proposals can be sent electronically from the
website. Each will be peer reviewed. Please try and get them to us on
(or preferably before) the 11th of November.
I hope to see you there :-)
Cheers,
Malcolm.
