I've also seen this problem, but only when copying a content area from
one course to another. If I copy a new content area into another course
it gets placed into the list with the same number as and existing area.
The only way I've been able to sort the list out is start from the last
item and work up to the first changing the numbers in order. This used
to be an issue in a previous version I think but was supposed to be
sorted a couple of releases ago, check the knowledge base for info, I'm
sure I've seen it in there in the know issues section. A bit of a pain
really because I'm just about to copy a new content area into around 50
courses. Doh, Doh, Doh.

Neil,
Re. sorting those pesky numbers out...... curiously I've always found
that working from the 1st number sequentially down the list seems to do
the trick! What a crazy anomaly!

Hi Neil
Yes I've seen this lots of times, if you start with the last number and
work you way up to number 1, you should be able to get them back into
order, thats what I do. It only seems to happen every now and again.

Has anyone else come across a bug in version 6 whereby when you go into
Manage
Course Menu loads of the menu options have the same number (the little
number
that you can change to alter the order of the items). I have about 6
number 8s
and whatever I try to do it won't sort itself out.I have only seen it on
one
course
