Excuse me Merv if I reply to this.
It all comes down to portal roles.
Before you log in, a Bb user has the role of guest. If tabs are visible
to a guest, then they can see it. If not they can't.
Thus if you want a tab called staff info only visible to staff logged
in, assign it to a portal role of staff. Remember too that you can make
a tab visible to several roles - a user with one or more matching role
will see it.
Equally if you have pages you only want visible before logging in,
assign them to guest.
