The National Council on Archives is delighted to announce that, following a
selection panel, Louise Ray, formerly acting Archive Lottery Adviser, has
had her appointment confirmed in this high profile post. Louise was
previously the Archive Development Officer for London. She has worked as a
freelance archive consultant and in a range of archives including the
National Theatre, the School of Oriental and African Studies, and the Tate.
The Archive Lottery Advisory Service is jointly sponsored by The National
Archives and The Museums, Libraries and Archives Council (MLA) under the
aegis of the National Council on Archives.
The Archive Lottery Adviser supports archive services throughout the UK in
making applications for lottery funding. This support is offered to record
offices and other institutions which hold archives and, through them, to
everyone who cares for or uses archives.
Support includes:
* Information on current lottery trends, programmes and eligibility
criteria
* Assistance with project planning and the application process through
consultation
* Advice on fundraising strategies and seeking partnership funding
* Application reviews prior to submission
* Talks and presentations to interested groups
* Lottery Workshops
