I have spoken to our supplies officer who has had presumably the same letter
or one very like it from Menarini (Name & shame I say). We regard this as
seriously bad practice and counterproductive to the establishment of good
commercial relationships.
with best wishes

Stephen Halloran and I have chatted about this. We know that the
Purchasing and Supplies Agency are able to supply advice on the legal
issues to do with the Freedom of Information Act. I have forwarded the
query to them but if you want to contact them directly try Jane Davies
[log in to unmask] or James Richards.
