Dear Zooarchers,
I am researching several faunal assemblages from the upper Midwestern U.S.
that are indicative of "bone grease" production. Although I am aware of
numerous references to bone grease production in the Plains and
Arctic/Subarctic, I have yet to find much detailed information from the
Midwest. It would be greatly appreciated if anyone could help point me in
the direction of references (both ethnographic and archaeological) that
explicitly discuss bone grease production in the Midwest, Northeast, or
Southeast US.
Thanks in Advance,
Jonathan Baker
