at Newcastle University in September:
1. Web Pages From Scratch (6th September)
Introduces the key aspects of web page creation, as well as
the use of style sheets, the use of web authoring tools and
design issues.
2. Information Skills: Is Google Enough? (7th September)
How to make the most of Google, and other information
sources, to find quality information quickly and
effectively.
3. Fundamentals of Flash MX (8th September)
Introduces the use of Macromedia Flash to create animated
and interactive content that is optimised for web delviery.
4. Exploring XML (13th September)
Introduces a wide range of exciting possibilities using XML
including XSLT & XPath for data transformations, server-side
XSLT and XML applications such as XHTML, SMIL & RSS.
5. Databases on the Web (14th September)
Covers the tools and practical techniques for publishing
database-driven content on the web. Topics include Microsoft
Access, Active Server Pages (ASP) and PHP with MySQL.
