A brief reminder about the next one-day conference Tony Russell of CTC and I are running here, on Thursday 14 April.
The main aim is to discuss the current revision of the Guidelines for Cycle-Friendly Infrastructure (CFI2), but also to examine the adequacy of existing guidance from the point of view of local authorities, the DfT, the ERCDT, user groups and consultants.
There will also be a chance to hear about more innovatory approaches both within the UK and in other European countries, both in terms of specific cycle infrastructure and in terms of more general changes in traffic management and street design from which cyclists and other vulnerable road users can benefit.
Speakers include:-
- Alex Sully, ERCDT
- Andy Mayo, Hull City Council
- Ben Hamilton-Baillie, Ben Hamilton-Baillie Associates, Bristol (and formerly of Sustrans)
- Dr. John Parkin, Bolton Institute for Higher Education
The programme will include a choice of workshops to provide an opportunity for extended discussions on the experience of both established and more innovatory approaches.
The cost is £140 (£35 concessionary rate for members of voluntary groups (limited number of places only)
