Public Engagement Officer for the Wales Gene Park
A key strategic objective of the Wales Gene Park is to promote public debate
and discussion relating to topical issues in genetics and to promote the
teaching of and training in genetics, working closely with teachers and
young people. You will be responsible for generating an understanding of the
ways in which genetics is perceived by the general public in order to
develop and deliver educational programmes for the Wales Gene Park in
collaboration with Techniquest, Cardiff's Science Discovery Centre.
You should have a first degree in Biological or Social Sciences, a
background in science communication and some research experience. You will
be based at Techniquest and will be responsible to the Wales Gene Park
Education Officer.
This post is fixed-term until 31 March 2007.
Salary: £20044 - £22289 per annum
