Aimed at aspiring science communicators, writers, and students, the
briefings lift the lid on how to start out, build and get ahead in your
career. Every couple of months we bring together three experts from a field
of science communication to tell you their story and to answer your
questions in an informal atmosphere all washed down with a complimentary
glass of wine and nibbles.
The session is aimed at providing useful information and answering your
questions on:

3 journalists have kindly agreed to tell you about their careers and answer
your questions.
Alok Ja
In 2003 Alok joined the Guardian as a science correspondent, part of the
launch team for Life, then the new weekly science section. He now mainly
writes news, features and comment on everything from botany to space physics
for the daily science page in the Guardian while contributing regularly to
the other sections of the paper.
Mark Peplow
Mark has been a journalist for Nature's online news team since January 2004.
Before that he was science information officer at the RoyalInstitution's
Science Media Centre, an information service for journalists.
Rachael Buchanan
Rachael Buchanan is BBC News' Medical Producer, working with medical
correspondent Fergus Walsh within the BBC's health news unit to produce
packages on medical science for the BBC1 six and ten o'clock news bulletins.
