There's a Pennsylvania down in Gloucestershire somewhere (or maybe it's in
Somerset, disconcerting anyway), but nothing is so strange as all the
familiar British place-names seemingly scattered at random in New
England--the counties of Gloucester & Cumberland next door to each other in
NJ; Newcastle & Smyrna neighbours in Delaware (coals imported by the Smyrna
merchant?)
