Hi Patrick,
Mainly other direction, though I believe some big waves reached south
of Perth and nearly washed away some swimmers.
There have been some big seas around Victoria which have drowned people
but I don't think anyone is attributing them to this tsunami. That's
too far far away.
My partner just speaking on phone to a friend of ours who is a
journalist. She's had ten days in Khao Lak and ten days in Aceh. Her
voice is still trembling. She says it is unimaginable (and she's seen a
fair bit round world). She was offered another stint in Aceh or the
tennis. She's chosen the tennis.
Dinner with another friend on Saturday. She survived - just - being
dragged under in Sri Lanka. She's 75 and a fighter but was reluctant to
talk abut it either.
Cheers,
Jill
