Dear list
The JISC's Technical Advisory Service for Images (TASI) is running the
following workshops during September:

experience. Includes calibration, techniques for capturing different types
of images and ways of getting the most out of your scanning and
optimisation software. NOTE: ONLY ONE PLACE LEFT
***Image Capture - Advanced - Friday 9th September
More advanced scanning and optimisation techniques, including histograms,
levels and curves. Introduces colour management and the use of ICC
profiles, and covers techniques for capturing difficult 2D and 3D items.
***Create and Animate Vector Graphic Using Flash MX - Friday 16th September
Suitable for non-technical professionals who wish to create animated
graphics for use on the Web or in presentations. Includes drawing tools,
creating animation using the timeline, and basic action scripting for
navigation and interaction.
***Digital Rights Management - Friday 23rd September
Covers copyright and other legal issues as they relate to digital images.
Offers practical approaches to securing and protecting copyright within a
digital environment.
Our hands-on workshops are run in small groups at the University of
Bristol, giving participants plenty of opportunity to discuss individual
issues with the tutors and other attendees.
Full details on these and our other workshops are available on our Training
page: http://www.tasi.ac.uk/training/
Note that we expect to release our programme for October-December within
the next few weeks.
Best wishes
