<<OR47 - guidelines for presenters.doc>>
Hi,
Are you interested in presenting in the OR and multiple methods or the OR
and multiple disciplines stream at OR47 (13-15 Sep 05)? If so, please read
on .......
Drive
A single OR intervention increasingly utilises more than one technique /
method and involves individuals from other disciplines. The drive behind
having streams specifically focussed in these areas is to explicitly address
these growing trends.
Stream Definitions
OR and multiple methods. This stream will look at the applications (novel if
possible) of OR studies utilising multiple methods / techniques in the
course of their analysis. The work may involve a blend of 'hard' and 'soft'
OR or a mixing of different 'hard' or 'soft' techniques. The stream aims to
highlight the increasing diversity of the methods utilised within OR work
and the increasing use of multiple methods within one piece of analysis.
OR and multiple disciplines. This stream will look in detail at how those
from disciplines outside of OR have come to work in OR organisations on
multi-disciplinary studies. Those who have come from such backgrounds will
share their perspectives and experiences. Ultimately, this stream will seek
to highlight how diverse OR has become and how it has now become necessary
for many OR-based organisations to employ experts from other disciplines.
Both streams are keen to receive papers from a range of academics and
practitioners from both the public and private sector
