Hi Tracey/Jacqi, in one LA job I worked at beside using the Ishihara test
the OH department had asked the electricians dept to let us have some
electrical wiring samples of various coloured wires ie green, brown, red,
blue, black and green/white. These were matched up in pairs and the subject
identified the colours of wires as part of the standard PEM. The City
University Vision Test (book) and Ishihara (book) tests were also used. I
don't know if you are aware but City also do a downloadable test which you
can use for colour testing on computer if your company/organisation will pay
for this. I have used this in one American Company and found when I
contacted City very helpful using both software and hard book tests. Here
are some links which may help. Some of them also explain related conditions

Hope this is of help and kind regards, Sue Mclaren

hi tracey
the ishihara is the book of colour circles with numbers or squiggles, i
seem to recall in my past seeing a big bundle of different colour wires
which was designed specifically to check colour vision of electricians,
the idea was they had to match the two wires which were identically
coloured and there were subtle variations.
i'm not 100% certain where it came from but i will contact an ex colleague
to ask
regards
jacqui
