RESEARCH FELLOW POSITION IN REACTION KINETICS – REACTIONS OF VIBRATIONALLY
EXCITED RADICALS
Following the award of over £1M from the research councils, a research
fellowship is available in the Chemical Kinetics Group. Studies of
vibrationally excited radicals offer insights into energy transfer and
mechanisms of association reactions. The project involves the preparation
of vibrationally excited radicals by IR overtone pumping – subsequently the
radicals will be monitored by laser induced fluorescence.
A PhD in Chemistry, Physics or a related discipline is required, together
with relevant experience in the use of lasers for spectroscopy and
kinetics.
The appointment is for two years and is available immediately. Applications
from high quality candidates with deferred starting dates may also be
considered. Salary on the RA1A scale (£19,460 - £29,128).
