On Tuesday 25 January 2005 a new report, Caught Between Stigma and Inequality, was launched on the mental well-being needs of local Black & Minority Ethnic Communities in Kensington & Chelsea and Westminster. The report was launched at a public meeting at the Migrant & Refugee Communities Forum.
Caught Between Stigma and Inequality gives the findings and recommendations of a community-based Task Group, which looked at the mental well-being needs of local Black & Minority Ethnic communities.
The project ran from October 2003 to September 2004 and was co-ordinated by the Migrant and Refugee Communities Forum and the BME Health Forum. A total of 20 community consultations were undertaken, involving over 300 people.
The report is now available online at this link http://www.kc-pct.nhs.uk/pdfs/caught_between_stigma_and_inequality.pdf
