Consortium for Healthcare Research
A multi-university consortium (The Health Foundation, City University,
Queen Mary University of London, London School of Hygiene and Tropical
Medicine and the University of Hertfordshire) is offering you the
opportunity to improve patient care, and help NHS professionals through
your innovative research. You will pursue your fellowship at one of three
of the four consortium universities, and will benefit from a well-resourced
research-training programme. Funding of research support costs is also
available. Posts commence in October 2005.
We are looking for applicants with a UK recognised qualification in
Nursing, Midwifery, Health Visiting or the Allied Health Professions, to
fill three, three-year full-time doctoral fellowships. The following
fellowships are available:
London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine: Applicants with an interest
in health care workforce issues, especially the impact of international
migration on UK health services, will be particularly welcome.Queen Mary,
University of London: Applicants concerned with an interest in shared
decision-making between practitioners and patients in health care will be
particularly welcome.University of Hertfordshire: Applicants with an
interest in any of the following will be particularly welcome: adolescent
or child health; health care for older people; maternal health; or patient
experience and public involvement.
Starting salary: Doctoral fellow up to £21,640 + £2,383 London weighting
if appropriate, and the option to spend one day a week in professionally
relevant paid employment. Salaries will include cost of living allowance
for 2004-2005 and 2005-2006. Remuneration for years 2 and 3 will include
increments, based on the salary scale of the host university.
