Professorship of the History of Science

: An outstanding historian of science of international standing is sought to
fill this important chair, tenable from 1 October 2006. Applications are
welcome from scholars working in any area or period of the History of
Science, excluding the ancient world and the history of medicine. The
professor will have a broad vision of the scope of the history of science,
and will be an integral member of the History Faculty, sharing
responsibility for the development and delivery of the Faculty's strategies
for teaching and research. He or she will have a particular responsibility
for graduate studies in the history of science. A non-stipendiary fellowship
at Linacre College is attached to the professorship. Further particulars,
