The Media, Culture and Communications area in the Department of Applied
Social Sciences at London Metropolitan University are seeking CVs from
potential Visiting Lecturers who would be interested in delivering a BTEC
National Award in Radio in the Learning Centre for the Prison Radio Project
at Wandsworth Prison, London. The Prison Radio Project will be run in
association with the educational media consultancy, Radio for Development.
The Prison Radio Project will enable students to run a talk based radio
station within the prison. The project also includes a Prison Outreach

participants who have just been released.
This is an exciting role in which the postholders will work to develop and
deliver the BTEC award, and provide assistance with course management and
administration on the Prison Radio Project, which aims to empower offenders
to break cycles of social exclusion and reoffending. The postholders will
also be members of the Media, Culture and Communications team in the
Department of Applied Social Sciences at London Metropolitan University.
There is also the possibility that these posts will develop into full time
vacancies in the future.
Candidates should be multiskilled, and ideally have practical experience of
working in radio, and of curriculum delivery in radio, preferably within an
FE and/or prison environment. They will need excellent organisational,
communication and liaison skills. A teaching qualification is desirable.
Interested parties should send a CV and covering letter to Dr. Anna Gough-
Yates, Academic Leader, Media, Culture and Communications, Department of
