THE CENTRE FOR EXCELLENCE IN MEDIA PRACTICE
Bournemouth Media School was recently awarded a HEFCE Centre for Excellence
in Learning and Teaching, the only one in the country in the area of media
practice. The Centre is appointing new staff, to be led by Professor David
Gauntlett, to conduct research on learning processes and teaching methods in
creative media education.
LEARNING RESEARCHER
£18,777 - £28,360 per annum
The Learning Researcher will have a PhD or equivalent experience in
educational research, and will plan and conduct a programme of research in
the area of flexible learning, leading to high-quality publications and

RESEARCH ASSISTANT
£12,887 - £17,601 per annum
The Research Assistant will be able to work independently to support
research in the Centre, analysing data, writing reports, and producing
literature reviews, as well as routine organisational tasks. Ideally you
have a relevant MA in education or the social sciences. (We would waive fees
if the applicant wished to register for a PhD). MED158

Both posts are offered on a 5 year fixed term contract.
DOCTORAL RESEARCHER
£10,000 per annum and fee waiver
A studentship is available for three years, to design and complete a PhD
research project in the area of experiential or constructionist learning –
learning through creative activity. The successful applicant is likely to
have a relevant MA or an exceptional first degree. Please send a CV and
