AHRC-Funded PhD Studentships
The School of Culture, Language and Communication at the Institute of Education, University of
London welcomes qualified applicants for two full-time PhD studentships on a research project
entitled ‘Camcorder Cultures: Media Technologies and Everyday Creativity’. The studentships and
the wider project will begin on 1st September 2005.
One studentship looks at the relationships between amateur video production and the UK cultural
industries; while the other focuses on the history of amateur film and video production. Students
will work on their individual project, and contribute to the ongoing work of the wider research
project. The studentships and the wider project will begin on 1st September 2005.
You will need to have a good first degree and preferably an MA in a relevant field (such as Media/
