Dear Kelly,
My first professional post was as a school librarian in East London and I
recall the same dilemma! Basically I avoided using the term 'junior' in any
part of the collection so we had Fiction and Older Fiction.

Subject: Pupil friendly signage
I was wondering if there were any school librarians who might be able to
help with a problem. At the moment the fiction section of my secondary
school library is split into 2 sections junior and adult, but I'm finding
that pupils who should really still be selecting their reading material from
the junior fiction section are reluctant to do so because of the term
junior. If anyone uses alternatives terms or even splits them into more
than 2 sections I would be very grateful to hear from you. Any ideas will
be welcomed.
