Well its difficult to know if this is a 'real' case, but I'm a little bit
encouraged that the advice (whilst it was somewhat hit and miss -
particularly in not expressing more clearly the skills required for the
suggested jobs) did seem to recognise the value of his qualification and
(some of) the benefits of CILIP membership.
I suppose that it acts as a reminder that the message can get through but
that it needs lots of repetition.
It does also raise the question (assuming the advice came from a careers
adviser) does CILIP target this group with suitable information?
