CILIP's Information Centre is now a Wi-Fi hotspot

Leading body for library and information professionals installs wireless
broadband Internet connection in its Information Centre for members

Members of CILIP: the Chartered Institute of Library and Information
Professionals can now use their own laptops for broadband access to the
Internet, when they visit the Information Centre at the Institute's
London offices.  This follows the installation of a wireless broadband
Internet connection, or Wi-Fi hotspot, in the Centre.

Ideal for checking your email, surfing the Web or connecting to your
office network - especially when all the Centre's fixed PCs are in use -
wi-fi offers seamless high-speed Internet access when you are away from
work or home.

Members simply need a wi-fi enabled laptop, web browser and a fully
charged laptop battery.

CILIP's Information Centre is open every working day to CILIP members
and bona fide researchers.  Besides a set of fully Internet-enabled PCs,
the Centre also contains a current awareness collection of documents
focusing on the library and information sector and the needs of the
library and information professional.  There's also a comfortable
members' lounge, with dramatic views over London's Bloomsbury district,
where members can meet colleagues and business associates.  Opening
hours are 9am-7pm Monday-Thursday, 9am-5pm Friday.
