Good morning,
I've recently been updating our literature on Pubmed and hadn't noticed this feature - it is in fact a very recent addition, it appears to have been added on the 7th February, according to the New/Noteworthy page: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query/static/new.html
Does anyone else find it annoying that one can't sign up to some sort of technical alert bulletin? There have been a number of changes to Pubmed over the past couple of weeks which weren't really announced - Cubby has changed to My NCBI (though that bit of news did make it to the home page), the way a text search is interpreted has become more complex, the look of the site has changed slightly, a "save search" link has now appeared next to the main search box, and no doubt there are other things I haven't picked up on yet.
Oh well, rant over, have a nice day,
Ruth

Subject: ?New Feature on PubMed: 'Did you mean?'
Dear All,
I always liked the Google feature 'Did you mean?', which, for me as a poor speller, is often very helpful; occasionally, after carefully checking the spelling of an unusual term or concept, I say 'no' and insist that my spelling is correct.
The best PubMed could do was an indication 'one word cannot be found' and you then had to check its spelling.
***Today I saw for the first time that PubMed has a 'Did you mean?' feature, just like Google.
This is a great - I just wonder when it was introduced?
It's so difficult to stay ahead of all new features on PubMed and elsewhere...
Best wishes,
Reinhard
