Following enquiries about the CoFHE/UCR Changing Places event, we can confirm that half-day attendance is possible. You can either attend the morning session (10-12.45), which will focus on Job Exchanges and Job Shadowing, or the afternoon session (2-4pm), which will focus on Informal Mentoring and Institutional Mentoring Schemes.
Costs for either the morning or afternoon will be £20 + VAT (=£23.50) for CoFHE/UCR members or £25 + VAT (=£29.37) for non-members (please note that lunch is not included in the half-day attendance fee).

Speakers
Job exchanges: Julie Robinson, International Officer, CILIP & Sue Pemberton, International Development Subject Consultant, Social Sciences Library, University of Oxford. Julie will talk about LIBEX - CILIP International Office's job exchange scheme (www.cilip.org.uk/libex) and Sue will give her personal experience of a job exchange and offer tips for planning one of your own.
Job shadowing: Sue Roberts, Head of Learning Services, Edge Hill College & Lisa Bruce, Site Library Manager, St Martin's College. Sue & Lisa have written of their experience of job shadowing from both sides of the equation. They will talk about their experiences and lead a discussion on this topic.
Informal mentoring: Antony Brewerton, Subject Team Leader (Arts, Social Sciences and Hospitality), Oxford Brookes University. Antony has written several articles reflecting his experiences of the mentorship process, and will explore what informal mentoring entails.
Institutional mentoring schemes: Sue Mathews, Senior lecturer at Oxford Brookes Business School & Claire Jeffery, Head of Learning Resources (Harcourt Hill and Wheatley), Oxford Brookes University. Sue set up the Oxford Brookes mentoring scheme, and will talk about what is involved in setting up such a scheme. Claire is currently a mentor in the Oxford Brookes mentor network, and she will give us her own personal view of mentoring.
