INTERNET TOOLS FOR EFFECTIVE INFORMATION HANDLING - ADVANCED *NEW*
20 OCTOBER 2005, LONDON
This workshop is a follow-up to the beginners course. It will ideally suit people who have been on the beginners course, but will also provide useful information to information professionals who already have a basic understanding of weblogs and RSS. The course will look at other ways in which data can be shared by information professionals, either with each other, or in their organizations, and will also cover various methods of storing and disseminating information. As participants will need to register with various utilities they should have access to a web based email account such as Hotmail or Gmail if they are unable to access their usual work/home email accounts.
WHO WILL BENEFIT BY ATTENDING?
For those who have attended the beginners workshop and those who have had responsibility for current awareness or SDS for at least 3 years and/or those who need to promote their services.
BY THE END OF DAY PARTICIPANTS WILL HAVE:
* enhanced their use of weblogs
* learnt how to use advanced information handling tools
* looked at the latest developments
* explore further practical methods to avoid duplication of output
