A vacancy has arisen for a Senior Library Assistant: Cataloguer to be
responsible for the creation of high quality bibliographic records for
works in English, for previously uncatalogued items from the collections at
the UCL libraries located at the Hampstead and Stanmore Campuses. This
will entail applying internationally recognised standards in the
cataloguing of these materials on the library management system. The post
is available for one year in the first instance.
The successful applicant will have a first degree, a recognised
qualification in librarianship and information science or substantial
experience of cataloguing according to recognised standards. Additionally
he/she will have experience of downloading and editing records from
external bibliographic utilities, experience of original and online
cataloguing and excellent IT skills. Previous experience of working in an
academic library would be an advantage.
Salary within the CRA4 range £18,401-£20,867 per annum inclusive of London
Weighting. In addition, Library Services offers a generous leave allowance
and a flexitime system.
