Please, could someone raise this issue at the meeting next week? At MMU, we too have
developed a lot of tutorials and rely heavily on Informs. It's so easy to create and
maintain tutorials ... and our students have really taken to them. We sure don't want to
lose all our work!

There is an opportunity to raise this next week at the JISC "Learning
Materials Working Group" Meeting.

I would strongly support this suggestion. There are now hundreds of
tutorials in the Informs database that have been developed by numerous
institutions. It would be a dreadful waste of a really useful resource
if no sponsor can be found. The current maintenance agreement with
Huddersfield must be nearing its end, plus there is great potential for
further development of the software. Elspeth

Do we also need a concerted lobby to get JISC to fund the INHALE/INFORMS
hardware and technical support at Huddersfield? The tutorials we have
are very good IMHO but we need sustained infrastructure support from
JISC.
If they become unreliable people will stop using or updating them.

Please reply to me and I will summarise for the list.
I would be very grateful for any information with regards to software
which offers anything similar to the INFORMs software - ie which allows
you to offer two windows at a time which you can use to provide live
access to the open database or other service in one window and your
choice of text in the other.
Are there other services - freeware or commercial - which offer
something similar or have improved on it in any way?
