Hello Everyone,
In common with several other III institutions in Europe, we at Sheffield Hallam University are very keen to add the Millennium
E-commerce module to our portfolio, allowing our users to pay their Millennium charges online by credit card. As you may know,
this module is live and well in the US and in Australia, but before it can be released in the UK, there is still a step which has
to be completed. Innovative are keen to get your answers to the following questions -
"Is your institution using e-commerce in any context? Anyone accepting credit card transactions online must have a business
relationship with a Secure Gateway Provider and an Internet Merchant Account Provider. If so, who do you work with for secure
gateway services? (In other words, if your University users pay for things using e-commerce or using credit card transactions,
with whom do you have a business relationship to process those payments (ie., whose API do their payments connect with or: whose
API does their shopping cart go to?). Is it Servebase? BucksNet? Worldpay? or someone else? Innovative will need to communicate
with that API in order to support e-commerce in the UK, as we do elsewhere in the world."
It would be very helpful if you could check this with your Finance departments and send your findings to Aaron Blazer at
[log in to unmask] - he would like to establish the most popular such providers in UK Millennium institutions in order to make
progress. He would find the information helpful even if you are not hoping to introduce Millennium E-commerce in the near future.
Thanks for your help,
Anne
