Use globus-url-copy for better error messages:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
-
$ globus-url-copy file:/etc/group gsiftp://ce-lcg.sdg.ac.cn/tmp/test.$$
error: globus_ftp_control_connect: globus_libc_gethostbyaddr_r failed $ host
ce-lcg.sdg.ac.cn ce-lcg.sdg.ac.cn has address 159.226.2.221 $ host
159.226.2.221 Host 221.2.226.159.in-addr.arpa not found: 3(NXDOMAIN)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
-
You must get your DNS fixed: the reverse IP address lookup must work.
