Dear all,
in two recent contributions to the list, reference was made to my (indeed
very modest)1996 book on "Treaty Maps" (unfortunately written in German:
"Die Vertragskarte"). Since I have still some copies left, I would be glad
to offer one (free of charge) and on a "first come first serve basis" to
anybody interested in the argument (in particular, the legal relationship
between textuals descriptions and cartogrpahic representations of boundaries
within a treaty instrument). Please let me simply know your address.
By the way, the datum issue is indeed a very interesting and tricky one.
However, since I have been involved in the Cameroon/Nigeria Case (as was
Maurice Mendelsohn), I will (or probably have to) abstain from any further
comments. Further: Sorry for not being more active in the discussions at the
moment ... but thanks to all for their most inspiring contributions to the
list ... and hoping to be back among the "activists" soon agian.
