STANDING ON THE SHOULDERS OF GIANTS: BACK TO THE FUTURE OF HEALTH LIBRARIANSHIP

The Leslie Morton Memorial Conference is being organised in association with the CILIP Health Libraries Group and in collaboration with the Medical Library Association (USA)
The aim of this event is to recognise Leslie Morton's significant contribution to the development of Health Librarianship, and contribute to setting the agenda for the future development of this area of professional practice.
The programme reflects Leslie's many interests and strong international ties, especially with colleagues in the United States. It has been devised to meet the needs of practitioners and researchers working in all areas of Health Librarianship and those interested in its future development.
Speakers, drawn from the UK, USA and Europe, include Maggie Haines, CILIP President; Judy Palmer, Oxford - The Future shape of Health Librarianship; Paul Ayris, UCL - Scholarly Communications: future perspectives ; Professor Sir Graeme Catto, President General Medical Council ; Joanne Gard Marshall, MLA President - The role of Research in Health Librarianship ; Anne Adams UCLIC & Jeannette Murphy CHIME - Measuring the Benefits of User Education ; Bruce Madge, IFLA Health - International Collaboration
The event will also feature the launch of the Leslie Morton Scholarly Bursary, a fund which aims to support research and discovery in health librarianship.
The conference will be preceded by a fundraising dinner on Thursday 24th February for which there is a separate booking fee.
