Internet Mapping/Corporate GIS Officer (1 year fixed term contract)
Salary: Up to £35,840 inclusive of London Weighting

Description: The Corporation of London is the local authority for the City
of London, providing a wide variety of services to a unique mix of
customers. It has an 'excellent' CPA rating. We are seeking an Internet
Mapping / Corporate GIS Officer to develop internet mapping for the
Corporation of London website and draw up a strategy for delivering
corporate GIS. The Internet Mapping/Corporate GIS Officer will develop a
generic interface for the Corporation of London website via which
geospatial information can be displayed and will be responsible for
liaising with all appropriate departments to prepare datasets for display
via this mechanism. The post holder will also develop a road map and
sustainability plan for a move to corporate GIS from the current position
of departmental ownership. Graduate level, with at least three years
experience of working in GIS (preferably ArcIMS), and with experience of
project management, you will be both technically competent and have
excellent people skills. With experience in implementing internet mapping
systems and of centralising GIS within an organisation, you will
understand the technical and organisational barriers and be able to work
