Really interesting project requires a Geographical Information System
(GIS) Architect to design and develop Software Architecture for a GIS
solution. Working closely and giving direction to Java / J2EE Developers,
the successful candidate requires a minimum of 3-5 years GIS experience,
including design of the architecture. MapXtreme / MapInfo experience is
ideally required, however we may be able to consider candidates that have
worked with similar products/tools (ESRI etc). The overall project
involves the implementation of bespoke Web based applications into an
Oracle Database environment containing large-scale Spatial data. You will
have the ability to assist Business Analysts in gathering and analysing
user requirements and give direction to the development and design of the
GIS element. Skills required: GIS, MapXtreme (or similar), GIS package
implementation and integration. Good communication and documentation
skills coupled with the ability to champion GIS functionality. Immediate
