Hello All
Thanks for feedback on two issues I recently posted on the GEM group:
Copyright.
At Exeter we have decided to do the following to enable us to use images
still in copyright:
Try and find copyright holder:
1) research museum documentation files - if found, ask owner. If not:
2) ask Bridgeman Art Library (as we are a client) to see if they have
records - if found, ask owner. If not:
3) ask Design & Copyright Society to see if they have records - if found,
ask owner. If not:
4) use the image but with statement attached to the effect that we have done
everything reasonable to trace copyright owner and would welcome further
information from anyone to help us find them.
In other words we have taken steps 1,2, and 3 plus the statement in 4 to be
'taking all reasonable steps' in our working context.
Outreach services whilst redeveloping
Many of you put what you do already on wheels and go out to schools, and
others take the opportunity to break the mould and do other things entirely
- exhibitions, oral history projects, family events etc. We may well look
at linking up with the extended schools concept which is gathering strength
in Devon.
Thanks to everyone who provided ideas/advice.
