Public Awareness Campaign Coordinator
The Roll Back Xenophobia Campaign is a joint public awareness project between
the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and the National
Consortium for Refugee Affairs (NCRA). The campaign aims at creating awareness
of refugee and migrant issues so as to help counter xenophobia. The project
seeks the services of a coordinator to be based in Pretoria to manage and
implement this national campaign.
The ideal candidate must: have the skills and tools necessary to drive and
manage a national campaign; have the necessary qualifications and experience
in running a public awareness campaign; be able to create and maintain media
and stakeholder contacts; be able to delegate tasks but also work as part of a
team under minimum supervision; have excellent writing and editorial skills,
computer literate and fluent in any other South African language besides
English and Afrikaans; be creative, pro-active and able to take initiatives
that lead to an innovative campaign; be energetic, enthusiastic and willing
to undergo further training on xenophobia, fundraising and project management.
Own car essential.
A salary package commensurate with qualifications, track record and experience
is offered.
